The Program in Political Thought and Constitutional Government
explores the Western tradition of reflection on the relationships
among law, government, and political morality. A particular focus of
the Program is on the idea of natural law in the Greek, Roman,
Jewish, Christian, and Enlightenment traditions. The Program also
examines modern social problems, particularly as they are manifested
in the domain of public law. Through its support for the study of
foundational philosophical issues, the Program seeks to contribute
to the civic education of students and the general public.
