Programs : Political Thought and Constitutional Government

The Program in
Political Thought and Constitutional Government

The Program in Political Thought and Constitutional Government promotes the idea that the Western intellectual tradition is relevant to contemporary politics. Special emphasis is placed on the significance of natural law in the American constitutional tradition. The Program also supports the application of the Western tradition’s fundamental principles to modern social problems, particularly as they are manifested in the domain of public law. Through its support for the study and research of foundational philosophical issues, the Program seeks to contribute to the civic education of students and the general public. Senior Fellow Robert P. George is the Director of the Program.
